After having been a full time clay artist for over 30 years, I finally entered the Bronze Age! I began my career in horticulture, ran out of vases, so took a pottery class & the rest is history. Much of my work reflects this interest in gardening. I started with the wheel, expanded into hand building, & eventually discovered sculpting, which has become the foundation of much of my work. In the last decade I have begun teaching clay classes at an art center & giving clay demonstrations to schools, art groups & garden clubs. I especially enjoy demonstrating for elementary schools & garden clubs. The children ask the most amazing & unexpected questions; the gardeners ask the most pertinent. Clay is ever changing, always challenging, & I can’t wait to find where it leads me next! I had one of my clay turtles bronzed last summer and was delighted with the result. Now I have an entire family of bronzed turtles and, once again, am wondering where this new challenge will lead.
